when to use medication

When every other treatment fails it comes time to take a decogestant and Tylenol or ibuprophen. It is best to keep use to a minimum as many have a rebound making symptoms worse than to start with. Nasal sprays are very habit forming and very hard to stop. I've seen people use a bottle or two a day in my pratice. Generally it is safe that homepathic teas are helpful due to the effect of warm steam and extra fluids.

at the first sign of anything around me

I have young kids that get sick from friends and then they come home with it. If my wife gives me any advance notice, I prepare. I try to prepare and prevent before taking any “real” medicines. If I do get sick , I do hesitate taking medicine and seeing if my body can fight before I start getting to much in my system. If I am not winning the battle, I take a nighttime medicine and then tell the kids to leave daddy alone and get good night sleep in...that does it for me.
