Evaluate Your Itch - Treatments

Once you have figured out the cause of your itch, it is time to treat it. Of course, the treatment depends on the cause, but these may give you a good idea of what you are looking at.

  • Allergies or a cold - Antihistamines (medications for itching, sneezing and runny nose)
  • Hives or allergic reaction (generalized skin rash) - Benadryl or generic diphenhydramine
  • Other types of rashes - See a doctor.
